New Building Codes
- The 2025 California
Building Standards Code will become effective on January
1, 2026. Please visit the California Building Standards Commission Website for updates.
- Building permit applications
will be accepted under the 2022 California Code Cycle through Wednesday,
December 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m., provided the submittal is complete
and payment is received within two business days. Incomplete submissions
or delayed payments may result in cancellation, and a new application
compliant with the 2025 California Building Standards Code will
be required.
- Building permit applications
submitted on or after Thursday, January 1, 2026, must reflect
and comply with the 2025 California Building Standards Code.
Holiday Closure
- The Permit Center will
be closed to walk-in service and phone calls from December 24,
2025, through January 2, 2026.
- Voice messages will be checked
regularly for urgent matters.
- Inspection services scheduled
prior to the holiday closure will remain on schedule.
- Permit applications will
continue to be accepted and reviewed through the electronic
Paperless Permit Portal.
